Back pain and rehabilitation

Back pain is a common reason for absence from work and for seeking medical treatment. It can affect people of any age, for different reasons.

Back pain can result from ruptured disks, bulging disks, sciatica, arthritis, osteoporosis, kidney problems, and can also result from poor posture. After the treatment, the trainer should assess the client and set a specific program to help him or her to stay pain free. It should include strengthening, stretching and stabilization exercises. The first phase should focuses on stretching and stabilization, and the second phase on strengthening exercises.
The trainer should always start with supported exercises, then partially supported, and last should switch to non-supported exercises.

Whatever is the reason of the back pain, the trainer should follow this plan to keep his program safe and effective.
